This resource is designed for EYFS and KS1 children, aiming to enrich science lessons with hands-on activities that promote close observation, sorting skills, speaking and listening and critical thinking.
The collection comprises 13 distinct sets of colourful cards. Each worksheet containing 6 cards that present a visual dichotomy for children to explore and sort. Children sort into 2 sets per sheet.
The pages include contrasting sorting concepts such as plastic or wood, metal or woollen, crispy or smooth, hot or cold, sticky or soft, furry or smooth, and shiny or dull, among others.
The resource also includes a final sorting sheet where children are encouraged to draw or paste items, creating their own sets based on the sorting principles they’ve learned, such as hot and cold.

Materials Included:
Curved Shapes and Lines Cards:
A set of 5 sheets each showing 12 colour cards with items with curved lines, straight lines, or shapes. These can be used to discuss the concept of curves and lines in both natural and man-made objects.
Activity Worksheet:
A final worksheet that allows children to draw or paste pictures of items with curved, straight, or mixed lines and shapes. This worksheet can serve as a review of the concepts learned.
Instructions for Use:
Cutting and Sorting: Begin by cutting out the cards on each of the five pages. Laminate them for durability if desired.
Categorization Activities: Use the cards to engage children in sorting activities. They can sort by type of line (curved vs. straight), by shape, or by whether the object is natural or man-made.
Matching Game: Duplicate the cards for a matching game, encouraging children to find pairs of similar shapes or lines.
Shape Recognition: Use the shapes-only cards to focus on pure shape recognition, discussing sides, angles, and properties.
Creative Application: Utilize the worksheet for children to apply what they’ve learned by drawing or pasting in items that match the discussed categories.

A counting and matching activity for young children with an Easter theme.
Sheet one shows numbers from 1 to 10 for children to trace over and cut out.

A colour and black and white Easter worksheet where children count the eggs in the nests and write the numbers in the boxes.
There is a flashcard for each of the eggs in the nests from 1 to 5.
Children can colour these in and they make a really nice wall display.
Or laminate the coloured in cards and use them for ordering, counting or matching.
